On October 13, 1983, Hecky Powell combined his two passions (helping people and making the world's best barbecue) and opened the doors to his restaurant. With just 100 bucks in the register, he started selling everything from rib tips to chicken, all paired with the best dang barbecue sauce you've ever had. More than 37 years later, Hecky's is still doing what we do best -- and then some! Our menu has expanded and our kitchen is bigger than ever. But the best thing about our business growing is we've been able to help our community thrive along with us.
